Thomas Tuchel has named an expanded 35 man England Squad for their upcoming March Friendlies, but there will be no Trent Alexander-Arnold
Thomas Tuchel has just announced his 35-man squad for these friendlies and stilll has not found room for players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luke Shaw and Ollie Watkins.
ENGLAND SQUAD
Goalkeepers: D.Henderson, Pickford, Ramsdale, Steele, Trafford
Defenders: Burn, Guehi, Hall, Konsa, Livramento, Maguire, O'reily, Quansah, Spence, Stones, Tomori
Midfielders: Anderson, Bellingham, Garner, J.Henderson, Mainoo, Palmer, Rice, Rogers, Wharton
Attackers: Bowen, Calvert-Lewin, Eze, Foden, Gordon, Kane, Madueke, Rashford, Saka, Solanke
Tuchel on why Trent, Watkins and Shaw have not been picked:
"I know it is a tough decision for Trent as it is for Ollie Watkins and Luke Shaw, These tough decisions come with the job. Its a sporting decision. We'll stick with Quansah, Livramento and Spence. "
Tuchel also later explained why he has chosen a 35 man squad was because he will split the two friendlies into two different camps, with Kane, Declan Rice, Marc Guehi, Gordon, Rogers, Dan Burn, Elliot Anderson, O'Reily and Dean Henderson will like up with their team-mates after the Uruguay game on March 27.
"These Guys have played over 3,500 minutes, some 4,000 minutes" Tuchel explained. "More important than the pure number of minutes is some of these guys have played more minutes that the whole of last season."
"All of these players have contributed in September, October and November. They have credit with me. To give them a break mentally and physically, we will benefit from it."
Manchester United's Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo also return to the three lions, as does AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, but the duo of Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah are absent through injury.
